Summary0010132: Rocket spells are too powerful
DescriptionIn version 0.707 rocket spells (while fixed) are still overpowered.

Compared to most spells, they have a similar cool down (0.5 sec), a quick travel speed, no strange firing arcs, a very large area of effect, and deal double the damage of normal spells. Essentially there is little reason to use other spells. Especially once you add damage perks to the mix.

I would suggest either putting in a lengthy cooldown, lowering the damage, and/or introducing a small ammo cost.

An alternative (but probably more code intensive) idea is to make only the explosions deal damage, and have it only explode if it travels the full distance. In other words the rocket itself wouldn't deal damage and wouldn't deal damage if it hit something prematurely. Making the ability more of a tactical nuking that can't be used up close.

Edit: Also the flavor text about them still says the damage depends on how many shards hit.

* All of the player rocket spells (there are 7 of them) are now more dangerous: the actual explosive shrapnel that happens when the rocket hits a wall or an enemy is damaging to everyone -- players, enemies, allies, etc. The rocket itself, which doesn't last long, won't hit players or allies; just watch out for that blast.
** This helps to differentiate rockets more from other spells that can be used at close range; these really do have to be used at some range from yourself, and helps prevent them from being overpowered.
