Summary0010166: Injured resistance
DescriptionInjured resistance members are unable to complete dispatch missions - which means they also can't be moved with the rest of the resistance, essentially being left for dead when the overlord comes rolling in.

An injured last member of the resistance also has no chance of recovering, as they die from lack of morale (nobody working or completing dispatch missions) and can't build their own health clinic. They're unable to help gather food or anything else.

Understandable if it's a fatal injury and they need to be hospitalized, at which point they practically are dead. But I feel that an injured resistance member wouldn't peacefully go down without at least trying.

And by that I mean that injured resistance members should still be able to participate in dispatch missions, just at a severe loss of success. Injured members can still be carried along when quickly moving camp, and even the injured are expected to help to their limited extent when in rebellion.

That risk of failure should come with being so handicapped compared to their peers. But having a broken arm doesn't mean you can't help pick food; a broken leg doesn't mean you can't hastily abandon camp when the overlord is on your neck. Even broken ribs, in wartime, mean light duty until you can recover, but that doesn't mean you're completely useless. If you are needed to help lookover building plans while everyone else does the construction, you can still help contribute to the success of what's going on.

This isn't a bug, you just need to make sure to have clinics built and intact, it's part of the strategy of the whole thing.

Seems to me to be working just as intended and I'm happy with it, IMO

I would support being able to rally injured survivors, at least. It makes sense that you could carry them or something.

Suggestions:
-Halve effective skill level of a survivor while injured
-Half effective success percentage
-Cap effective success percentage to some amount
-Raise difficulty of missions injured survivor partakes in by some amount
-Reduce movement range speed by some moune, half or by 2 squares
-Can only move using a rally action

Just some ideas to make an injure less fatal while still being a handicap worth building a clinic.

I agree with Gezmo... It'd be nice to allow a rally to pick up injured survivors. How to communicate the mechanic simply to a player is a harder problem, though.

khadgar, exactly.

Look at other survival stuff, in movies and other games. The last member of a resistance, injured and on the brink of death, is highly ineffective, but still keeps fighting, reviving the resistance just before dying.

Pushing your last survivor with a 50% capped chance of success (and reaching it from being an expert) to set up a clinic... if they die, that's sad, but if they're an expert, they should so deserve that chance to push themselves to the brink of death and risk it all.

Even more so, if they participate in a mission, keep their own success rate in mind that when sending them out, they may fall behind or die, or further injure themself in some way, while leaving them would have prevented their death.

(Note: further injure could be something like losing a skill level - Like in physical therapy, trying to relearn how to walk, getting another walking injury quickly lessens ability to walk again. Level loss stays after recovery as a form of permanent injure, like breaking your leg, then breaking it again: the second break splinters the bone, and the shard(s) get lodged in muscle, where mending the broken bone means you can walk and run again, but the shard there means it will be incredibly painful and you'll have to train yourself to fight through the pain. Just an idea for possible negative effect for trying to do a mission)

(2nd Note: Falling behind could lead to a survivor rescue mission in the area, where they're found injured, but at least retain their skill levels)
