Summary0010427: Menu screen flashing on Mac OS X 10.8
DescriptionHi guys,

When I launch AVWW2, I get the menu screen. THAT first one screen is fine for the buttons. I can seein the background that there is some kind of background. But it looks totally in desync and keeps flashing, making my eyes bleed after 10 seconds.

I think it's a desync, since I can't clearly see the image. I couldn't tell you what is on the background.

Unfortunately, a screenshot won't help a lot (besides if you want one).

Are you talking about the white background, essentially? The thing behind the menus is jittering around like crazy?

I'm on 10.8.2 and I have no flickering on the main menu page at all.

I have the following system reqs:

15 inch, Mid 2010 Macbook Pro
2.53 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB Memory
Intel HD Graphics (also a NVDIA GeForce GT 330M)
OS X 10.8.2

I strongly suspect it's not related to the OS at all, but rather to screen resolution -- ie, super large screens having a problem.

Yes exactly. That's totally correct. It's the only place where it is doing that. All the rest of the menus, and inside the game it's working fine.

x4000 i just checked you assumption and it seems you are right. If I take one resolution down (1920*1040) it is fine. Only the 2560*1440, which is my standard resolution, it is doing it.

Thanks!

* The new intro scene for the main menu is now in place.
** We hadn't planned on doing this quite yet, but it lets us resolve some flicker that was occurring on monitors larger than 2048 pixels wide with the old main menu.
