Summary0003370: Cloaked ships and unable to unload transports
DescriptionHello guys,

I'm back with another bug I encountered with the latest update of AI War. I even encountered two bugs, but the second one is not yet confirmed, as I only had it once so far... Need to make another run test.

So, I was doing the tutorial mission (again, I know). I played in multiple sessions and saved quite often. After a while, I had to conquer one system, which I did. But I was never abled to destroy all the ships, because some of them were cloaked. I forgot about the decloaker, and missed them somewhere. Now, they are sitting in my system, and just do nothing. I'm not able to find where they are. So, I continued the tutorial, and conquered another system. Once more, after a save, I can now see that two systems are attacked with the same amount of cloaked ships (170 both), but they never do anything, and I'm not able to spot them.

Now, in my stats, I can see that I face 340 ships, but where ? I don't know.

I have took some screenies of the situation, one on a system, to show that no enemy is to be seen. Another on the galactic view to show that I have two systems crowded...

The second bug is a little bit after that one, when I have to skip one system to attack on the backdoor. I put my ships into transports and send one through. Once arrived in the correct system, I try to unload the transport... But nothing happen there... I also tried to destroy the transport, to recover my ship, but even that did nothing to the transport... Once again, this one needs further testing, and I will confirm this one in a reply.

If necessary, for the cloaked ships, I have the savegame ready to be analysed if necessary.

Thanks for support,

Well, I'm sorry to say so, but the second bug is reproductible as well on my mac. I launched the game a second time, did the very same things, and it appeared I could not unload my transports.

I will post as well my savegame.

From that savegame, here is what I did.

I read the map from left to right. So... I take the system with the first 170 units attacking me (the left hand side of both). I build one more transport. I select all the units there in the middle (a little bit more than 600). I dispatch my units inside the transports to have them all loaded at 200/200. The remaining units, I set them on auto-roam at the same place they were initially.

I take the three transports, and send them to my neighbouring system, the second one with the 170 attacking units. I There, I empty one, and set the 200 units in auto-roam near the door, to back my system in case of counter-attack. I take the two other transports, and group jump them via the galactic view to the system asked in the tutorial, skipping one system. When I arrive in the system I want to attack, I send the two transports on the left hand side of the screen, to avoid mass killing while offloading. I only have a few ennemies following, so I want to unload... And just can't...

I don't think either of these are actually bugs, sorry.

In the case of the first one, most likely the cloaked ships are around a stealth guard post or similar. You can use the decloaker if you want, or if you really can't find them you could fire off a tachyon warhead. Not being able to find cloaked ships that are cloaked is not remotely a bug, though. ;)

In terms of the second one, I expect that if you hover your cursor over the transport, it will say why it can't unload. Most likely you're trying to unload too far from the center of the planet, or something of that nature. Deleting a transport to fast-eject also isn't allowed in enemy territory. It sounds like everything is working as designed there; some folks had some ways of abusing transports that these measures counteract.

Oh, ok, that's already great news here... I think I've a decloaker around a gate, and a tachyon in the system (the first one)... Will have a deeper check there...

Sorry for the false warning :p

I confirm, my bad... After building decloackers, destroying, and rebuilding a little bit further, I was finally able to find and destroy the 170 in each system. As well, I did managed to unload the ships when entering the system, so probably I was trying to unload them to far away from the ennemies...

So, all solved, and many apologies...

Not a worry at all!
