Summary0004242: Slowdown/frame-rate-drop with amoebas.
DescriptionI'm not sure if this is to be expected, but I seem to get a pretty choppy framrate whenever I'm in a room with an amoeba (or boss amoeba). I don't have V-sync on or anything. I've got a pretty decent computer as well (Crysis on Very High and all that) so I'm just wondering if this is something other people are finding.

Is it based on the spells they are shooting being onscreen, or just the amoeba in general? I still get full framerate with them, myself, last time I checked. Do you have an example save with a boss amoeba where you're getting the slowdown?

I'm pretty sure it's related to the spells. Especially since the spells linger now, it just get worse as time goes on. It also seems to spike when I double jump. Just something to do with all the effects on screen happening at once? I was just surprised, as I didn't expect it to tax the computer much!

I've also noticed it to a lesser extent in underground regions, with lots of ice leapers. Again, the added 'ride the lightning' effect makes it spike as well.

This should essentially be fixed with the spell timing changes in the next version. If not, please do let us know!

A lot better! Still a slight jerk when the amoeba first fires spells, but on the whole, much much better!

Cool -- also, I've been advised to tell you about D3DOverrider. Nalgas talks about it a lot, and basically it let's you turn on triple buttering despite the fact that the unity engine doesn't support it; and that evidently really makes a world of difference especially on faster systems that are getting framerate drops they should not be.
