Summary0004263: Amoeba miniboss projectiles linger, stack, and do tons of damage
DescriptionBoss Amoeba projectiles are not removed when they contact walls. With the rate at which the bosses fire the projectiles, it doesn't take long for a room to become a sea of wavy blue pain.

Trying to pass through this barrier (in order to fight the amoeba, for example) is incredibly painful, and caused instant death for one of my characters. I assume the projectiles are piling up on top of each other, so the player is hit by many at once.

The attached world file should put you directly into a pyramid containing miniboss Amoeba who is happy to demonstrate the issue. Non-damaging Desert Burrowers included as a bonus!

EDIT: Sorry! Need to clarify something: the projectiles ARE still removed. They just take a long time getting around to it. The new duration may be okay, but it might be necessary to remove the projectile when they hit a wall, instead of having them always last the full duration.

I've thought something bad was going to happen when I saw that projectile duration change, but nothing as bad as this. I'm lucky to not have fought one for now =P

Yes, I have also been experiencing the waves of blue pain. To make things worse, sometimes the boss hovers out to weapon range and sets the floor below it on fire :(

I think the projectiles sticking to surfaces is intentional, since Tidal Pulse does the same thing. Ten seconds is too long, though. It gets really bad when the amoeba decides to fire twice as many as usual. And don't even think about coming back after dieing, unless you want to play "the entire room is now lava".

They need to be toned down a bit, I ran into an amoeba and the floor was covered with blue flames in a few seconds with more coming. I had to make a quick exit ...

* The maximum movement rate of giant red amoeba shots has been doubled, and the time to live (TTL) of their shots has been halved.

* Similarly, for the giant blue amoebas, their shots have had their TTL halved, but in this case their max speed and their acceleration have been doubled.
