Summary0004364: Emergency warp?
DescriptionI find it especially aggravating to die while I'm trying to choose a location to escape from a hard fight. I wonder if there could be a way to warp without going through the series of clicks on very small boxes on the minimap it takes to activate the spell now? I think I'd be happy with something like going to a random location if you double-click (or double-tap) the scroll/potion. I think that could be a good mechanic --- there'd be no guarantee you'd survive, but you wouldn't feel like you got killed by a menu. And if you ran out of scrolls you'd have a lively trek back out of the region.

I'm not exactly sure how I would personally implement this, but I do agree that being "killed by a menu" is frustrating. It's almost happened to me on a few occasions. I've always said that if you suffer in a game due to its interface, the interface is failing.

Why not do what I do? Hit "p" to pause and then warp at your leisure. Warping unpauses at the other end.

Was just about to say that, heh. Also, made a report to make sure it's not considered a bug.

This is by design -- you're not meant to be running around in the middle of a fight in a menu. The exit from the room is always available, and you can escape by making it to the door and then getting into the temporary invincibility.

I think I'll make warp scrolls not work at all for leaving boss rooms, just to remove the confusion there.

And of course if you really wanted to explore whatever menu and absolutely don't want to have monsters doing anything to you, just hit the pause (P) key.

That's a fair answer, cool.

Hrm. Not being able to warp out when health is low would certainly add some danger. You'd have to make this clear somewhere, otherwise people might discover it at an inopportune moment...
