Summary0004370: First viewing of the strategy map does strange things with "unscouted" fog.
DescriptionWhen you first view the strategy map (or possibly the first time you view a particular part of it), scrolling the window reveals tiles that have the "unscouted" fog marker, which then fades for the tiles that have actually been scouted.

I'm reasonably sure that this sometimes clears the fog in places it shouldn't, especially on newly-revealed regions. This may be a separate issue, though, because these regions seem to show up without me having visited them. I don't track places I've seen or not seen all that closely, so it's possible that I'm mistaken completely here, but some of the new regions are on the far side of some water and/or revealed in odd shapes that I don't think are possible to get by walking.

I've linked 0004282, which seems to be referring to the second half of this ticket.

Is this still happening in the latest versions?

The "you haven't scouted here no wait you actually have" the first time you visit the strategy map in a freshly loaded game is still happening in 0.524.

I haven't seen the magical revealing of new areas, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't happening occasionally. (Also, it may not have happened in the first place -- it's possible (although unlikely) that I imagined it to begin with.) Given the not-so-recent-anymore changes to how the world is generated and revealed, I'm fine with treating this as fixed unless we see it happen again.

Okay, thanks for the update on that.

Well, marking this as fixed for now, since still have not seen it lately. Thanks!
