| Description | I cannot open AgainstBasic.xls, KnowledgeBreakdown.xls and StrongWeak.xls in Office 2010 (32-bit). I also get a crash when editting ShipDataFull.xls, but I can just convert that to an .xlsx to eliminate that problem. I don't actually know if those three files would even be useful to me, but what would be nice is if the number of attacks a unit got would appear in ShipDataFull. That is one piece of fairly important information that is missing. | ||||

Interesting -- they are valid excel files, and I don't have Office 2010, so I'm not sure what I can do about that, honestly. There's always LibreOffice or OpenOffice. ;) |

Oddly, Office 2007 reports the same error, but when I tell it to recover the file it seems to be successful (2010 fails to recover the file). Here is the error file generated in 2007 after successfully recovering KnowledgeBreakdown.xls (which I don't think contains much useful info): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="true"?> <recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main"><logFileName>error049720_01.xml</logFileName> <summary>Errors were detected in file 'D:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\ai war fleet command\RuntimeData\Data\KnowledgeBreakdown.xls'</summary> <additionalInfo> <info>Excel recovered your formulas and cell values, but some data may have been lost.</info> </additionalInfo> </recoveryLog> Any chance of just making them CVS exports? I was actually pretty surprised they weren't CVS, so I assume you are using a built-in Unity or C# library to do the Excel export. |

Actually, the files it is having issues with appear nearly empty. AgainstBasic and StrongWeak are just a header row of Mark I through Mark V, nothing else. But that is after 2007 does its repair, so there could be info it is losing, although the files are only 3KB each (KnowledgeBreakdown is 4KB and actually has a little data when repaired). |

At some point most likely we'll change this around, yes -- it's not likely until the next main dev cycle on AI War, though. |

AI War version 5.035 When opened in LibreOffice 3.5.4.2, the AgainstBasic and StrongWeak are just a header row of Mark I through Mark V as Hearteater noted. I would assume these are supposed to have more information in them? It would be nice if this worked; I'm still learning the game and I'd love to have a hardcopy of strong/weak data as a reference. |

I don't think StrongWeak is used anymore. I believe that was a previous mechanic before damage multipliers against hull types. It used to work (before my time, so I'm sketchy on it) something like each ship had bonuses or penalties against specific other ships. But that's been replaced so that file is irrelevant now I believe. |
