Summary0004688: The Deep sucks me into the middle.
DescriptionIs the deep still supposed to suck you into a middle node? It's doing that for me at the moment. I'm not getting the graphical flickering of the tiles on exit though. (like I was a few patches ago) However when I first got sucked into the deep the whole screen flickered a bit.

Although the first node isn't marked as known like it was the last time the problem was happening. So it means I can't even teleport out. (although it was a good few levels below me so it wasn't very troublesome)

Just giving the shout out since I haven't seen anyone mention it for the recent patch.

Is this your first step into a hostile region, or your second? If the first, it should be putting you on the edge. If the second, it's working as expected. If you stepped out of ocean or lava and into the deep, this would be okay for instance.

Added the dupes of this. The original was marked resolved, but it actually has never been resolved to my knowledge. I tried to reopen the original a few days back. Not sure if I'm doing that properly, since it still shows as resolved.

Bob -- to reopen, you can't just edit the status to say reopened. You have to click the reopen button. You have to be the originator of the topic to do that, though; otherwise best to just open a dupe and link it.

Hmm well I was trying to get to an area and my only route was through a group of "The Deep" tiles (the other routes were blocked off by pylons I couldn't reach) so I did take a second step.

It would be nice if there was a way to conquer these tiles (so you don't get sucked in), especially if they're many many levels below your civ level. It just seems a bit strange for a "hostile" tile like 10 levels below you to suck you in like that. It's hardly hostile anymore. (and if it is you're superior strength should shut them up) Maybe except for the sea because that still makes sense no matter what level it is.

It could be, those reports are from earlier in the week. I'll have to go test it out with the latest build.

It doesn't matter anymore since in the next patch the deep and the lava flats no longer suck you into them.

Oh, drat. Well, I just tested it, and it IS fixed. Although to test it in areas that weren't blocked by pylons, I had to go into an area that was double my level and a bat decided to come down and fly right on top of my character, and it wouldn't go away. I waited and waited and finally decided to make a break for it and hope the auto potion would save me. It did not. Now I have a pack of vengeful ghosts on the way. I should stop sacrificing characters for science.
