| Description | Making maps is fun and easy, but testing them is a bit more tedious. You have to remove every other map from the selected folder, find a room that would correspond with the map you made, and once you're done, replace the maps. Would it be possible to have an option at the main menu to select a map to test? It could open a window to allow you to select the map you'd like to test, and upon selecting it would give you a few options (if a boss should be in a room, what type of boss, if it's a lieutenant or overlord etc.) and then load it and put a random player entity in it (or maybe just a default one). Bosses should be the same level as the player just so things will go smoothly and the player should have infinite health (or some potions in the inventory) and all the spells so any situation can be tested. I think the inclusion of this would drastically increase player created maps, due to ease of testing. | ||||

I don't think this really belongs in the main menu. Perhaps a separate tool that invokes a subset of the game? |

I was thinking this same thing when I was making that boss map. It would have nice to be able to simulate a boss battle with it straight from the map maker. |

I considered asking for it in the map maker, but not everyone has access to it. so far, the Map Maker is windows only (might run with WINE in Linux but I'm not sure) so if they can load the game, they can test maps. |
