Summary0007325: Super spells that charge in odd ways
DescriptionMany platformers and other types of games have super spells. But super spells that are just on cooldown can't be real super-spells: you'll just keep using them every little while and they don't feel like something special. What's really cool is when you can charge spells in weird ways and they suddenly flash 'ready', at which point you can unleash crazy stuff, like meteors falling all over the screen, or fairies that arrive and attack all bad guys on screen, or a nuke or something.

Ideas of ways to charge these spells:
Long cooldown +

- Getting hit for a certain % of your HP (not from falling).
- Killing X creatures.
- Hitting enemies X times.
- Doing X amount of damage to enemies.
- Hitting with X damage per second on screen for X seconds (spells that are only for multiplayer).
- Doing X amount of melee damage.

Oh and one of these super spells could require nothing else but a global cooldown (ie. between characters for the one user): a kamikaze spell that does massive damage around you.

I like the idea of having spells that require more than just mana to cast (or enschew mana entirely). Therefore, I like this idea. This would tie in well with some of the spells implemented already, such as meteor requiring lv3 rock launch to unlock. So, a super meteor spell would require lv 4 fireball and lv 4 rock slide, or something. Meta-spells!

That's a really cool idea!

I noticed that if I assign spells with two different cooldown types on both left and right-click, I can easily use both at once for massive damage. Wouldn't it be cool if we could get a new, combined spell from using two spells at once?

(Probably best to do "use two spells within X milliseconds" to avoid input issues.)

Maybe even dual-casting the same spell gets a cool bonus effect. It could even be a new spell modifier, "+20% Dual-Casting Effect".
