Hmm, it has code in there to give you back everything you spent in that sort of situation, but maybe it's not working. I'll see what I can do with that repair save, I should be able to test that there.

Does anyone have a save for duplicating it? I don't see any reason this wouldn't happen.

I did a little bit of testing on this. If you build something, queue up something else, pause the constructor before it finishes the first thing, then cancel the first thing, you won't get the resources back until you unpause the constructor and it starts on the second thing.

The queuing a second thing part may not necessary, I'll test that next.

That clarifies it -- and if there's nothing else in the queue, you wouldn't get it back at all until you put something else in there. This is an old bug, I'm marking it as a minor thing for later.

Okay something even stranger happens if you do this but don't queue a second thing. The constructor "remembers" how much you put into the ship that was building when it was canceled while paused. As such, if you try to build that same ship, it will continue where it left off. Only if you build something different does it refund what was put towards the old ship type.

EDIT: Ninja'd :D

Yes, that was by design, actually.
