Summary0008712: Game changing language for some text.
DescriptionMain menu at some spots and in game popup messages change their language to something I cant read (looks a bit mid-eastern) after a few seconds of showing up.
Never had this issue on 1.0 series, showed up after i got the 1.1 update. The game is playable, but it is impossible to read any new popup messages that appear, due to them staying English only a few seconds.
Attached a screenshot showing this at main menu.
Oddly enough Alt-Tabbing out of the game and coming back resets it back, and the text is readable for few seconds.
I am not sure if this is a base issue of the game or conflict due to me not using English as my default input language.

Hmmm, yeah, it's probably because of your non-English standard set-up. I say that because I can't imagine that this would be the first we'd be hearing about this otherwise.

Out of curiosity, what language is your computer set up in?

That's definitely still english -- if you look at the text, you can see that it has been simply cut off in the upper left corner of each character for some reason. I'm not sure why that would be, but it's just mangled english and not another language.

You might want to try a fresh install (or verify the steam cache if it's on steam) and then reinstall the latest betas to see if this persists.

Alterntively, are there any errors being logged to your Runtimedata folder? The debug log or unhandled exceptions or similar might have some clues in them. The fact that you're the only one experiencing this thus far makes me suspect a corrupt install, but it could be something else.

After paying far closer attention, yes the upper-left corner is cut off...

The odd thing is that similar thing happens with me in another, completely unrelated game - "MacGuffin's Curse" where every tile of game is missing upper left part...

I'm starting to think something might be wrong with my hardware rather than software... 2 bugs in totally different games, resulting in similar visual glitches...

From the look of things, DirectX is not installed or is not installed properly. Our game would normally run in OpenGL mode if DX just wasn't there at all, so I'm suspecting the latter.

Sadly it did not.

Even more ... after rechecking all the installed games on my PC, most seem to have some sort of graphical problems... I am starting to fear this might be due to a corrupted OS install...
Since it is impossible to completely remove DirectX from system...

Well good thing I kept true to keeping all my data on a different drive than OS...

It all truthfully began when I changed my OS from WinXP 64bit to Win7 32...
I would have wanted to avoid this, but it seems I have little options left.

I will attempt to repair my OS install, and if that fails do a clean install altogether.

Will update after that's done.

Well I'm off to try the Driver downgrade (since I'm running 12.4 - the newest ATI driver atm)..

And don't worry - I did not lose any data.. my important stuff is stuffed (PUN!) on another drive.

It's certainly a frustrating issue, I'm sure! Hopefully it's not some sort of hardware degradation; ATI drivers have been a little iffy lately, so perhaps that's "all" it is.

Downgraded to 11.9 drivers and "Suddenly" everything appears to be working flawlessly... as far as graphical glitches go.
