| Description | Inspired by 0008744 Idea for a new foot enchanted labelled Air-slide - when space is pressed and held in mid-air the character maintains horizontal velocity (unable to change while space is held) but ceases vertical movement, this drops off after a certain distance/time and the character resumes falling. Should also reset the 'fall' height so that it could be used before the character hits the ground after a long fall in order to avoid falling damage. Should only be usable once between times touching the ground. | ||||

Hmmm. I'm thinking about this idea, and it doesn't quite...seem like enough. You can already use Teleport to move a certain distance in a straight line. Giving yourself another jump is already a way to increase the horizontal distance you can travel while in the air. If you want to move more vertically and less horizontally while in the air, equip an enchant that reduces your falling velocity (and/or use a Pre-Industrial character). Hmm. Maybe this idea could be combined with Air Brakes? Maybe air brakes don't stop you in your tracks - but instead, you skid a little ways in the direction that you were moving, until the air brakes are fully applied, and you've stopped moving in midair (provided that you were able to 'brake' early enough to stop in the air, and not so late that you hit the ground anyway). |
