Summary0008822: Middle mouse spell activating when it shouldn't be
DescriptionAlright, I think I've managed to eliminate this as a hardware failure. But am still attempting to nail it down to a replication.

I've noticed that sometimes the spell on my middle mouse button (Creeping Death in this case.) would activate at strange times when it wasn't supposed to. Ordinarily, I'd attribute this to my mouse wheel button going all wonky, but after a bit of testing (Rapid, random clicking) I noticed strange behavior.

Sometimes it would seem the middle mouse is being constantly held down, not again, I would attribute this to a hardware failure if it wasn't for one thing: The spell (Again, Creeping doom) wasn't tracking to the cursor and instead was firing in a straight horizontal line based upon the characters facing!

Leaving the room will stop this behavior, as will alt-tabbing as I've found out.

Again, still need to find a reliable way to reproduce it. (And, in fact, find out if it's room specific or not.)

Based on my current finding I suspect there is some correlation between Mouse 3 and Mouse 5 (2nd thumb button). I will update when/if a solution is found.

Anyone else experiencing strange activation of the middle mouse button?

So far I haven't encountered this again in awhile.

The last time I was able to reproduce it was holding Mouse 5, while rapidly scrolling down on the mouse wheel and clicking it.

Do you have a gamepad plugged in? That could be related to it. You could unbind the gamepad from the third function.

If it's firing straight ahead or similar, then very likely the input source is not the mouse actually doing the firing.

I will check that. Because I do indeed have a gamepad plugged in. 6>.>;;

Yeah, I think this can be closed.

Just goes to show you that you shouldn't forget that you have something plugged in. -_-;;
