Summary0008922: Shield bearers should be immune to insta-kill
DescriptionSince ion cannons now shoot 4 bullets at once i've noticed that shield bearers get destroyed so quickly as to render them useless when a system has an ion cannon or two in the system. The low cap for shield bearers doesn't help their cause either against ion cannons. Therefore, since they are a shielded unit they should be immune to insta-kill like all the other shielded units.

Perhaps they could have their engines damaged instead, like ships whose mark is higher than the ion cannon's? Otherwise it might be just too strong, even with their low ship caps.

For 5.042:

* Shield Bearers (the normal ones; this was already true of the spirecraft ones) are now immune to insta-kill.
