Summary0009181: Too many platforms/crates
DescriptionIssue:
I think players find way more platforms and crates than they actually use.

How it currently works:
Only in the very beginning of a game, is it really possible to run out of platforms/crates. Once you've been in a dozen or so stash rooms, you should have more than enough platforms for the rest of your AVWW days. And unless you're building titanic walls of crates, you'll probably have enough crates by that point, too.

Why it matters:
The gameplay dimension of "watch how many crates & platforms you have, or else you might starve in the bottom of a pit!" simply isn't there, as players have plenty of crates/platforms to get out of any logistical fix.

Why it doesn't matter:
* Not having enough crates/platforms would just be unnecessarily annoying.
* It's not like carrying thousands of crates/platforms is slowing down the game: having 1 or 1000 platforms is just a different number for the game to keep track of.
* In a way, this isn't really an issue, just a minor annoyance: seeing that I have 3000 platforms doesn't really get in my way. It just "feels" annoying, and excessive.
* Gosh, isn't it a great time to take a nap?

Proposed solution:
* Drastically reduce the number of crates/platforms players find; I should find 5 platforms in a stash room, not 50. (Subject to tweaking, if it seems like this goes too far / not far enough.)
* Keep the "platform/crate boxes" in the settlement. Running out of platforms & crates could be another part of the 'adventure/retreat to town/adventure again' cycle, which is currently enforced by losing too much health to go on.
^ Example: Players have a modest amount of crates & platforms they can get free from the settlement. If a player wants more than that, they can find some in stash rooms. Note that finding crates/platforms in stash rooms would also refill the player's dwindling supply, letting them adventure for a little while longer.

Benefits:
* Players are more thoughtful about placing crates/platforms, as they only have so many.
* Encourages (but doesn't force) using crates more often. Using just platforms all the time is going to make me run out of them quicker; the efficient adventurer will use crates sometimes, and platforms sometimes. (I get the impression that players usually use just platforms, and rarely use crates).

More drastic, thought-provoking alernatives:
* Give players infinite crates/platforms; think of it as a 'summon crate/platform' spell, with 0 mana cost.
* Totally eliminate boxes & crates from stashes xD
     - Players would be able to get maybe 100 each of platforms & crates from the boxes in the settlement; when they run out, they'll just have to go back to town & get some more (thus being another driving force behind the adventure/return to town/adventure again cycle).
     - Note that this would encourage players to adventure together: More players means more platforms/crates, means they can adventure longer.

Final note:
With the new Rising Bubbles spell, running out of plaforms/crates is of even less consequence (for better or for worse).
