| Description | Just an observation that the cultural victory seemed to give way too many points upon victory. I had a raw point score at the end of a normal/normal/normal (Japan/Greece about turn 87) around 380,000 points. I built the final piece to get a cultural victory - my final reported endscore was somewhere around 53 million points. Which would put me in the top 5 steam leader board had I been playing online. Seems pretty wrong considering my top previous score (early releases) was around 4 million maybe on hard/hard/hard. Not a hugest thing to people who don't care about leaderboards, but I'm sure with very little effort I could have gotten 200+ million easy and doubled the top current leader on steam using the 10 turn rollback power and the fairly stable state the game was in. Haven't had the time to check to see if its a consistent error or some random confluence of events, but thought it was big enough to the leader boards to report immediately. Edit: Played another game japan/ norse hard/hard/hard with a culture victory on turn 88. Raw score 450k, with bonuses around 8 million, the culture victory giving me 150+ million score. So I think its actually working consistently - but the 20x end score post bonuses is pretty insane. As a note, I've noticed the leaderboards now have a fair number of 100+ million scores and even a 350+ million leader, whereas when I noted this last week the highest score was 100 ish million, and most of the top scores were 20-50 million tops. Again, not a matter of concern if you don't care about score creep on leader boards, but its pretty damaging to them. Especially since culture victory is billed as an alternative way to win, not basically the only way you should be trying to win if you care about score. | ||||
