Summary0012464: Screen blacks out when starting mission
DescriptionAs it says on the tin, I entered a mission and the entire screen is black. No exo is selected it seems as there are no actions available to execute. The game still lets me save, so I have the save of after this bug has happened.

I encountered the same issue. I can abandon the mission, but it won't let me start.

My guess is that something can not seed correctly and therefore the mission blanks out. The save may help to determine what can be changed on the seeding algorithm.

For my save ("Broken") it is the southernmost Armory mission.

I believe I have discovered the cause of this bug. It happens when you complete a Bahamut mission when the exo that is to be upgraded is the one that is active at the end of the mission. Any mission started after that (without restarting the game) will begin with the screen being blacked out.

I assume the game is trying to put your old, non-epic exo into play, and thus you can't see anything as that exo no longer exists...Or something.

In any case, I reccomend paying attention to what exo you end Bahamut missions with until this is fixed. Do not use the exo that is going to be upgraded to walk onto the exit tile. I don't know how it works if you have multiple exos of the same type.

I don't have a repro save of right before completing a Bahamut mission... Might get one tomorrow.

Gemzo, you are a genius. :-)

At least in my case this is a valid explanation. The mission I did before was a Science Bahamut mission and I remember that I had my Science Exo active, because I hacked a locked door before heading to the exit.

So, if your assumption is correct it should be much easier for the devs to fix the problem.

Cheers!

Thanks!

* Fixed a bug where sometimes specific missions would fail to load with an Exo in them.
