Summary0012747: Battle popups on invisible spaces can reveal what's behind hackable doors
DescriptionIn the attached screenshot, the player's fired an area-of-effect weapon to damage the locked door and item behind it.

The battle popup reveals that the door contains a stealth regen pod, letting the player decide to save their hacking points for doors that contain items.

I'd suggest simply not allowing invincible objects to take damage. This may also be covered by 0012302 and 0012722.

I just tested it in 0.928 with your save and while I still get messages about damage the exo has taken (from itself, in this case) I get no messages (damage or otherwise) about the door or anything behind it.

Please retest in 0.928+ when available, if you get a chance :) If still present, please let me know here and I'll take a deeper look.

Still an issue in 0.927 AFAICT, but I will retest in 0.928 when it's out.

Well, what are your steps to reproduce in 0.927? I tried a variety of weapons and things, including firing a freaking plasma cannon at the door and it didn't give me any info :)

You must have battle popups enabled (Esc / Settings / Extras / Show Battle Popups). I normally play with battle popups on, so I might not have made that 100% clear.

This still exists in 928. With the attached save bug12747.save, fire a grenade launcher at the square north of the locked door.

I added a more impressive screenshot and save file, bug12747b.save. With bug12747b.save, fire the rocket launcher at the second door from the bottom (although anywhere in the vicinity will probably trigger the text).

For 0.929:

* Loot Containers (not the small ones), Ammo Chests, Shield Recharge Bays, Stealth Recharge Bays, and the mission structures for Armory, Science Station, Bahamut, Salvage, PartsFab, Propulsion Lab, Reactor Fab, and Shieldworks missions are now all immune to weapons fire, as previously there was either no reason to destroy them (for the chests/bays, which are always seeded out of the way) or the health was so high as to make it impractical.
** This does not apply to the "empty" versions of the chests/bays.
** This prevents "explosive peeking" by shooting an aoe weapon at a door with a chest behind it with Battle Popups on to make it tell you the name, etc.
