| Description | I purchased the Mac version of this game from MacGameStore. Although I don't think it's relevant, I'm on a an 8-core, 3.1 GHz Mac running 10.9.2 with 16 GB RAM and 512 MB VRAM. However, the game does not run. When I open the file, an empty black window appears and nothing further happens. I have deleted and reinstalled several times (with and without rebooting between installs) with the same result. A MacGameStore support tech also tried this on four different Macs at his end and experienced the same result on all of them (I do not know the system specs for those Macs). The support tech was also unable to verify that any of their customers had successfully downloaded and installed the file. Note that the installer at MacGameStore is 30 MB in size and the total installed program is 60 MB. The strikes me as implausibly small. Despite the Product Version noted above, I don't actually know whether this is 1.0 or one of the later builds -- MacGameStore doesn't say and I am unable to determine this from the downloaded file. Both the Get Info window for the program on my desktop and the "About The Last Federation" menu item (the one thing in the game file that can be opened) give Unity Player version numbers, not TLF version numbers. It seems most likely to me that you accidentally sent MacGameStore the incorrect installer file. I doubt there's actually anything wrong with the game; probably someone just needs to re-send them the installer. | ||||

Thank you for letting me know about this! I think maybe they split out part of the game thinking that was all that was required for the Mac, but actually it was just the executable and not the runtime files. The .app file is indeed about the size you mention, but that's missing the other 350MB or so of content -- no loca files, no images, no music, nothing. I had sent them a combined-OS version, and I think that led to the confusion when they split it apart. I've now sent them the 1.004 installer as a separate Mac package so that no splitting is required on their end, and as soon as they get that up all should be well. I've emailed that directly to Tuncer, if you want to mention that to the tech there. Sorry about this! |

Just wanted to update this ticket, since it's been a week: MGS has yet to post the revised file and won't confirm or deny having received it -- they simply note that files are "usually" posted within 1-2 days of receipt but "may take longer in some cases." Not Arcen's problem at all. I just wanted to let you know that I DO intend to update this ticket when the updated file is posted. |

MGS finally posted the new version and I have downloaded it and verified that it runs correctly. I do appreciate you guys getting this to them so expeditiously, despite the fact that my ticket was initially posted after hours on a Friday. It turned out not really to matter because of the slow posting process on their end, but I appreciate the thought! This ticket can be closed. |
