Summary0001551: Spire Martyrs > Rams
DescriptionCurrently, martyrs are most definitely better than rams because they a) offer AoE, b) have better stats overall. Going over the first tier:

Martyrs
- Two created
- 10 000 000 HP
- 1 000 000 damage
- 0 armor
- 40 speed

Rams
- Two created
- 200 000 HP
- 2 000 000 damage
- 0 armor
- 34 speed

Clearly the martyrs are most efficient and effective here, and even though they deal one million damage less (leaving hybrids at exactly 1/2 HP), they still are a better pick in comparison. Far greater durability, slightly faster move speed, and again, AoE overshadows the use of rams.

I believe their role would be mostly anti-structural and anti-hybrids/starships; thus, from my prospective, some of these changes may be considered:
- increasing number of rams created from a single asteroid,
- greatly increasing their HP,
- increase damage dealt,
- increasing their agility,
- allow them to be transported (?).

Changes may also be made upon the martyrs themselves, as they are on the borderline of being unbalanced, but certainly, rams themselves require a greater incentive to be used.

Also nasty suggestion: When a ram hits a forcefield have it deal damage to everything under the field as well as the field itself.

* Spirecraft Rams now do 10x more attack damage, and now have 999k piercing damage, have a ton more health, and are now much faster. This makes them brutally effective against force fields and other large structures that the martyr can't really touch. Now there's a reason to sometimes choose these over the martyr.
