| Description | I like the "space docks in control groups" feature, but say I do the following steps: 1) Select space dock, hit CTRL+1 (make into control group 1) 2) Build units, I can select them by hitting "1" on keyboard (this is correct behavior) 3) Use shift+(drag a box using mouse) to *add* some units to my selection, and hit CTRL+1 again to add those units to the selection Here's the bug (or at least I think it's a bug): as a result of step 3, the space docks have been removed from control group 1. Is this reasonable to fix? It feels quite counter-intuitive. | ||||

This isn't actually an error, and is just a complication coming from misunderstanding how control groups 'work' so to say. By pressing #, if a space-dock is assigned to this number, it does NOT select it, even if it's in the system. This is so you can easily press the #, grab all the units, and send them off. So by pressing 1, in your example, than using shift add, you essentially grabbed all of your units, minus the space dock, than overwrote the old # 1, excluding the space dock. |

Yeah, I guess that's why. I've learned just not to use those production control groups if I want to add units to them, and then this is not really an issue. I guess the real answer here is to have named control groups as Keith has mentioned in the upcoming UI changes - then you could use the control group customization in CTRL tab, without actually using up a useful number on your keyboard. I agree this is probably not realistically fixable without doing super weird things, and can probably be resolved or closed. |
