| Description | Currently in my game, the Andors have researched more dense living quarters as soon as they hit about 80% of pop equilibrium. Then I decided to make more of their home planet usable, and now I can't learn more dense living quarters from them because they are not interested in this technology (although THEY already have it and I want to learn it FROM them, not WITH them). I generally don't think Learn Tech from Race should have any prereqs other than me being able to learn it and them being willing and able to teach me the tech. | ||||

I'm confused. The learn from them, not research with them, should include all techs that they have that you do not. However, is it redded out for some reason? It may be that you don't have enough scientists to complete it in a reasonable timeframe, or that you yourself are missing a prereq for that tech (in which case you need to first learn that, then you can learn the other). The interface should say what is up there, though. Do you have a save? |

If I click on learn from them and choose more compact living quarters, it specifically says "None of the planets of this race are at 80% population equilibrium or higher, so they aren't interested in researching this." Got it, okay. That's a bug -- can you upload a save with any bugs that you report, so that we can reproduce them and thus verify our fixes? It's a big game, and things take a while to repro. :) |

No worries, and thanks! Also, a lot of people miss the upload thing -- you can't do it during an edit for some reason. You have to be viewing the issue, and then there is a section for uploading files a bit down the page. |

The same save file as in the other threads, I reuploaded it here, though. Interestingly, the Andors on Pallas have this requirement of min. 80% of equilibrium pop to be able to learn the tech from them (in 5 months), but the Skylaxians are happy to research the tech with me (in 17 months), although they only have 10% of equilibrium pop or something like that. |

I don't think I've seen the other threads, I was just pointed at this one. For 1.503: * Now the learn-from-race method of tech research does not apply prereqs that require the race to have a planet with a specific circumstance (80% of equilibrium-pop filled up, etc). Thanks :) |
