| Description | I've created a profile and started a campaign. In the very first combat mission the screen went black after my projectile hit an enemy ship. I tried reinstalling the game and restarting Steam, launching the game in fullscreen and windowed, tinkering with settings, but no avail. My system is Manjaro Linux, 64 bit, kernel 3.14.18-1. I'm attaching the debug log. | ||||

Hmm, this is a very odd issue. Your debug log there is filled with a ton of warning messages that don't make any sense to me, basically parsing errors that are inconsistent with what the game normally should do on any OS. I have a feeling that the freeze (or whatever it is) might be related to that. For version 1.601, which will be out later today, I've put in the following change: * Put in a possible fix to a parsing issue with bullet patterns on unsupported linux distros. This may help, not sure, although again this is only a problem on unsupported distros so far as we can tell. However, bear in mind that the only linux distro officially supported by the unity 3D engine, and consequently by us, is Ubuntu. I'm not sure how similar Manjaro is to Ubuntu, but the problem may reside somewhere in the differences there. We don't have any other reports of your issue, so I'm guessing that is probably related. Possibly the fix above will solve it for you, but if not you might want to give it a go on Ubuntu if you can and see how that works. |
