I always interpreted "absorbs EMP" as "keeps the EMP from affecting anything on the world in question."

hm - I believe ffbearers have absorb emp effect.. perhaps it protects stuff under it?

Deflector drones have it too. I suspect it's either "makes everything in range of its protection effect immune to EMP's" or "makes all present friendlies immune to EMPs" but I don't know which. I do have DD's in my current game, though, so as soon as an EMP guardian fires I'll be able to tell you.

Actually absorbs is just immune + full-healed-when-emp'd.

Golems used to have the absorb version, so you could basically carry around a few full-heals in the form of some emp warheads.

Kind of like flame-shields + merton in ff6.

That's why there's now an immune version ;D

I believe I removed both flags from shield bearers a bit ago so that emps could effectively take down that auxillary ff defense (on some AI worlds it was far from auxillary too).

Of course, there's also an ongoing bug where paralyzed/emp'd forcefields flicker on and off, thus still blocking most shots. It's kind of a cool effect though ;)

"Kind of like flame-shields + merton in ff6."

Best. Obscure. Example. Ever. ;)
