Summary0020207: Maybe: Rich Get Richer: Gains a bonus to itself when your Metal count is above X value.
DescriptionRich Get Richer: Gains a bonus to itself when your Metal count is above X value. (Bit iffy, but throwing it in anyway. Much like the Zenith Reprocessor turning offense into economy, this somewhat turns economy directly into offense, without expending anything).

I worry this would encourage players to just sit around and avoid spending money. On the other hand, it might enable economy-focused strategies that would be interesting. Along these lines, it might be fun to have a super force field powered by metal; taking damage to the shield is instead done to your Metal Storage until your metal runs out.

Eh, Don't really think it is needed, or reasonable. Honestly, having metal in reserve is reward enough. Once you go into deficit and watch everything slow to a crawl, you never want it to happen again.
When you go into deficit trying to desperately rebuild your fleet after getting it obliterated, with the Threat assaulting you in conjunction with several waves, including the reprisal from your lost fleet, you will never again want to let this happen.

Past that, when we get features from AI war 1, like "Only repair/construct if metal > X" this would be trivial to maintain, only costing you metal capacity, in effect.

This is over a year ago. Very unlikely it'd happen, considering how terrible Energy Overload was as a mechanic in practice, alone.

Oops. I thought that it being flagged "Considering" meant it was fair game. I didn't check the date.
