DescriptionCredit to DEMOCRACY_DEMOCRACY for bringing attention to it first

When an AI launches a wave against another AI in the AI Civil War, the ships spawn, beeline for the command station, destroy it, and then run away. This leads to an unnecessarily long time for an AI to take another AI's planet, since all the guard posts are still there. One would have to launch a wave, destroy the command station, launch a reconquest wave, have that get destroyed by the guard posts, launch an actual wave which may or may not destroy the guard posts, the other AI launches a reconquest wave to take it back and replenishes the destroyed guard posts, etc. And this is just for one planet.


Directions: Look at the wave warnings and go to the planet where the first wave will hit. Watch as they gray ships spawn, focus the command center, and bail immediately.

Well, for this save game the AI force did take out a guard post and a command station and fought to the death. I don't know what else you would expect from a wave of that size against a high mark planet...

here, this save seems pretty consistent, but may need to be reloaded occasionally. Look at planet Widom at the bottom of galaxy map, and watch the pulsar tanks. they just snipe the command station and sit there. they don't move to engage stuff shooting at them

In this case, after sniping the command station, the raptors either retreat, or just camp out on the planet, rather than engage the enemy

interestingly, there have not been reconquest attempts by defenders yet, despite having a powerfool foothold already established

The AI is now allowed to send waves against Unowned but defended planets in Civil War mode.
