Summary0022671: Factions adding high mark ships to threat
DescriptionAfter starting a new game, I was attacked within the first 30 in game minutes by very large AI Sentinel's threat fleets to the tune of 80-95 strength. Unfortunately I do NOT have saves from this game, as I thoughtlessly overwrote them after managing to scrape by and overcome it. I did however attempt to recreate the scenario using the same seed and same factions. Its not perfect (the original had a Reanimator making it nearly impossible to overcome) and I'm far better prepared, but the same very high mark ships show up and camp out on my first taken planet.

Its easy to discern which ships belong and which don't, as they are almost entirely mk 1, and mks 4-6. They gather nearby and mass to about 20 or 30 strength before attacking. When defeated, they slowly "refill" on a nearby planet and attack again eventually. I think they're being irritated by dyson spheres then immediately preparing to attack afterward. I'm posting saves at roughly each interval of these ships attacking, I hope it helps.

The save "mk6Gamma andFranke" - far left of galaxy, planet Carabalilo.

There's a Macrophage being attacked. Once it leaves the planet or dies, the units shooting it go threat against the player somehow.

Saw them go Guard, then stop and come for the player.

Ugh, that was a nasty problem. Turns out the issue was that if a stacked squad Split while Guarding then the resulting new unit would be in Guarding mode, but we weren't copying over the "Which unit am I guarding" data to the new squad. Which meant that the next time the Entity Sim logic ran, it would say "You're guarding someone ? Well, we don't know who that was, so just go find something to fight"
