Summary0005076: All bosses in a location are the same
DescriptionJust entered an overlord's keep, and all bosses, from first floor to the Overlord, were dragons. I've noticed the same in other locations, but I can't say for sure if it was in lieutenant towers or rare commodity towers, or both. Not sure if that is intended or not, but it just seems so... uniform to me.

It's random chance, mixed with the incredibly low number of boss types at the moment. As more boss types are added, you'll naturally stop seeing this ever happen.

I honestly doubt that it's just random chance. The very next dungeon I entered was a rare commodity tower, and there, all six bosses were red amoebas. Once I can buy, but considering the odds of having the same type of boss six times in a row with three different boss-types (I think? Skelebot, dragon and red amoeba) is about a tenth of a percent, twice in a row... I'm not that lucky.

I should have clarified: bosses are segregated by region type, but they all have at least two region types to my recollection. Either way, the answer is the same that the real problem here is lack of boss variety.

Ah, so for instance, grasslands only support dragons at the moment, while deserts only have amoebas? Now it makes a lot more sense, thanks!

Looking at the code to confirm... yep, you're exactly right. Given that there are only three kinds of interior minibosses (not counting variants like red amoebas), there aren't even two that are thematically fitting with each region type. And frankly with ones like the amoebas, those ultimately would not be in the desert at all either, but for now that was all I had.

Once I get through the intro mission stuff my next thing after that is elemental damage, and [after / as part of] that I'll be working on a lot more enemies and bosses. Part of that will just be some waves of stuff that is almost functionally the same except for the elemental differences and the visual differences of the enemy graphics, and then we start getting into more different and varied bosses as the main avenue of expansion.

It's a little amusing, and a little amazing in some respects, that people are able to play this game for so long and have so much fun already, when there are that few minibosses. A year from now, people will look back in wonderment on that I think, in the same sense of how you'd feel if you heard that a year ago people were playing AI War with just fighters, bombers, and frigates and nothing else. ;)
