Summary0006285: Mouse cursor difficult to see on certain backgrounds.
DescriptionI don't want to call it a bug but I find it easy to lose the mouse cursor on some of the whiter backgrounds, ice age backgrounds are particularly bad but I've lost it on desert buildings as well.

I Only lose it for a few seconds, but usually enough to take damage because of it.

This is probably a combination of two things, the cursor is fairly small at 1920x1080 and well it's white.

Are you using the custom cursor? Or are you using the Windows cursor?

Same here. Custom cursor. I'm running at 1920x1080 and I just don't have good enough eyes to find the cursor on some backgrounds. Recently, the worst background for me is the desert building interiors (whitish tiles).

I just submitted a thread asking for a scalable aiming reticule. This is a feature of many FPS's and it help a lot with this problem. Perhaps there should also be an option to change it's color by holding down a certain button?

I also lose the cursor a lot. I would love an option to scale it up, or a choice of a few different cursors to cycle through. Since it's not an FPS where a big aiming reticule can easily block your view, I wouldn't mind having one that's huge and some obnoxious color that won't get lost on backgrounds, like hot pink. (At least, until the unicorn rainbow age gets added)

This is one issue that I believe should be finished before 1.0

I routinely lose the custom cursor against white or light backgrounds.

Same problem here. (I submitted the duplicate ticket on this).

For others with this problem, here's a tip I just discovered, which I found helpful... If you set the "Mouse dynamically moves camera" option, it helps a fair bit with mouse position awareness. Even though the cursor itself is still hard to spot at times, I'm more aware of its general location as I move about (because the mouse controls the camera) and the position is usally not that far from where I expect enemies to approach from.

This doesn't solve the problem, but it mitigates it a bit.

* There is now a particle-based mouse cursor underlay that gets displayed during the non-GUI parts of the game (custom mouse cursor only). This makes it vastly easier to keep up with where you mouse is on the screen during the chaos of a fight, and in turn makes aiming a lot easier.

This problem of difficulty to see also applies to lightening espers against certain skys and backgrounds.

Yep, but when they start firing they tend to be a lot more visible. Some degree of stealthy enemies seems okay to me.
