Summary0006627: Appearing elsewhere besides the entrance to a room
DescriptionJust had a room spawn me inside the wall of the room. I quit out and loaded back in, and it spat me out inside a little gap, making it impossible to continue with my current character. Attached the screenshot, and can attach the save as well if needed, halting play on this world in case the save is needed.

We might need the world, so if you want to keep playing, save the world file as a zip now, then you can keep going.

I've zipped up and attached the world, hope it helps in resolving this.

Ran into the same issue again, but this time stopped as it put me into a wall. Can upload both my save and my world if either is helpful in further troubleshooting this.

I think one save is plenty. I'm not sure this is something that is repro-able through saves, so it might be fruitless anyhow. If you go back out of that room and then come back in, does the problem recur?

I have a pretty good idea what the problem is and how to fix it without any saves, anyhow, I've just been trying to get some things other than _just_ bugfixing done today.

Just tested that, it does not recur. When I loaded it back up this time, it spat me out somewhere random in the room, but not somewhere blocked off.

I hear ya, bug fixing gets tiresome after a while. Out of any company I've purchased games from, you by far are the fastest at responding to issues of any sort/producing patches and such. That + your constant open communication will keep me coming back for a long, long time :)

If you're able to leave the room and then come back in, does it happen again? Not just on actual load of the world?

And it's not that bugfixing gets tiring -- Keith and I actually both get quite a bit of satisfaction out of it (most of the time). But with a product of sufficient complexity, there will always be bugs of some scale, and so the only way to ever move forward is to ignore some of them either temporarily (if they can wait a few hours or a day or a week, depending on severity) or permanently (if they are that incredibly niche and really don't affect anything).

Anyway, cheers for the support, and we certainly try to do our best in maintaining a healthy balance all around. :)

Ah, sorry for not being clear above; I tried entering the room again several times and it did not happen again.

I've found it tedious at times, mainly due to it usually being something that either I misunderstood or a weird conflict of some kind. I never seem to generate easy to fix ones.

No worries, and thanks for the clarification.

Thanks!

* Put in a whole bunch of logic to make it so that when players are added to chunks, they don't get displaced by enemies that might be in their way. In other words, previously if an enemy happened to be walking by the door you were just coming in through, then the game would spawn you in some random other location in the room, sometimes in an inescapable window. Yikes!
** This is one that is super hard to test because it was already extremely rare (and entirely impossible to reproduce from a save after it would happen, although we know it was happening). So if you see this happening again in the new version of the game, we really want to hear about it and in as much detail as you can give us. When this happens, it's because something solid was in your way and you got shunted aside. REALLY shouldn't be happening anymore, but you never know.
