Summary0006661: Ride the Lightning - iron ingots unavailable
DescriptionRide the Lightning requires iron ingots, which are only found in skelebot junkyards. Unfortunately, my current continent has none of those. What it does have is a very large surplus of Lava Flats and Ice Age areas. The lack of double-jumping makes the platforming something of a headache, especially below depth-4.

Could RtL be changed to use something else? With armour now disabling all jump enchants, platforming like that becomes tedious very quickly. So far I find that the Lava Flats are alright, and make for some fun but careful jumping (even with utahraptors!), but the Ice Age surface areas become a prolonged exercise in box-stacking. I'm not even going below depth-4, it's just too annoying down there.

Alternatively, Iron Ingot containers could spawn in some other biomes. It would make sense in Ocean areas, actually, since they look like shipping containers.

When was your world created? All continents should have all types of terrain available to them as of a few weeks ago. This may simply be an issue based on your having upgraded an old world.

THAT said, there are also enchants available that let you get both double and triple jump, and they're superior to RTL anyhow.

Ah, I've been running the same world for about 2 months, I think. So I should generate a new one? I'll try that right now.

EDIT: Okay, that definitely spiced up the surrounding countryside significantly. Looks like I'll be able to get all the resources I need on this one. And I could even start it on continent 2; handy feature, that.

I hadn't realized that an old world could be using outdated rules for generating stuff like new continents. I just made one world when I started and stuck with it. Thank you! Guess this is a non-issue.

Cheers!

Old worlds use new rules for generating new continents, but probably your latest continent came in before the changes to that sort of logic... or something along those lines.
