Summary0007013: Cursor is sometimes very hard to spot
DescriptionThis isn't really a bug, per se, but it sometimes is a fairly big problem, especially against the backgrounds in certain areas like in the pyramids and other desert buildings.

What seems to be happening is that when the cursor is moved quickly against certain backgrounds it gets harder to see, and if the player character is moving at the same time (and thus the ceiling/walls/floor/background is all moving), the cursor can become virtually invisible. Spell effects, health orbs, etc can make the situaiton even worse. All this makes fast reactions to enemies coming from an unexpected direction (ie: bats catching you from out of the dark) fairly difficult.

I don't have tearing issues, so I generally play with v-sync off, but I also tried it with v-sync on and it didn't make a difference either way.

I play at 1920x1200, so the cursor is quite small on screen, which is part of the problem. I think the blinking and color changing might also be part of the problem - if I use the OS cursor, it is about the same size, but somewhat easier to spot. (It's slightly better, but still a problem, and I'd also prefer to use an game-specific cursor than the Windows one, in any case).

By way of comparison, I just finished playing another recent indie platform-type game called Vessel, at the same 1920x1200 resolution, but the cursor is always easily visible regardless of what is happening on-screen. The cursor there is also about double in width/height compared to AVWW's.

So my suggestion: add an option for a larger cursor.

FYI - This is also mentioned here in this forum thread:
