DescriptionNumerous times so far I have been unexpectedly pinned against a wall by a creature, and proceed to die rather speedily from perpetual unavoidable contact hits before it's even possible to escape. It's rather annoying and I don't believe it should be possible. Perhaps a short moment of invincibility (at least to further contact hits) after a first contact hit, long enough for you to pass through the creature, could be implemented?

The game does provide ways to deal with this, the main ones are the two teleport spells through which you can escape pretty much everything, but depending on the enemy there are other ways, skelebots for example can be slowed to a standstill if you shoot them in the legs.

But as a basic point your supposed to learn not to back yourself into a corner.

I suppose. It's just that it has happened to me immediately after going through a door, before I can even see what's going on in the new room. That flying clockwork monster in particular knocks you back pretty far and the contact hits kill you so quickly when you get pushed against a wall that it really feels like you were cheated.

It doesn't really seem to make sense either. I mean, sure, you get too close to a monster and it hits you. Your mistake. That's punishment enough. What exactly is happening when the repeated contact hits happen though? The monster is just walking into you squashing you or something? Haha. It seems a bit silly. It comes off as more of a glitch than a gameplay element.

You should have invulnerability in effect after you go through a door, and that should prevent this from happening. I'm not sure if it does though -- I also think I experienced this a couple of times and if so, it's a bug. An enemy should not be able to knock you away when you're invulnerable as you enter a region.

Ahh, I see. Well this would make things much better. I was definitely knocked back right after entering a door and pinned a few times, so it must indeed be a bug then if there's supposed to be some invulnerability when you enter.

I'd still prefer being allowed to at least pass through a monster when you're hit by them though, even if it would mean taking two hits to do it. Most other games do the invulnerability on contact hits, so of course it's a bit annoying to not have that.

It's definitely bearable and not something I would mind too much though if the invulnerability on entering a room were fixed. Other than the few times it happened on entering the room, it was definitely my own fault when it happened and pretty avoidable if I were more careful.

The invulnerability only lasts until you move or take an action. Make sure you don't press any buttons when going through the door, or the invulnerability will immediately end.

One more note, it only kicks in if you were in the previous room for (I think) 5 seconds. So, if you just quickly pop in and out, you won't get the invincibility on the return trip.

Oh! And you can freely cast light spells, too. That helps when you are plunged into darkness :)
