Summary0007279: Object ideas and other things to affect procedural generation
DescriptionI'll use this mantis to place ideas for items, objects and other things that could make procedural generation more interesting in the sense that different combinations of objects, enemies, environment and player abilities make for unique situations.

- Hanging objects: just as hitting with a spell next to a lamp causes is to swing, hitting with enough damage close to a clock/painting should cause it to fall and hit whatever is beneath it.
- Closets, cabinets etc: consider making some of these come into the foreground, making them obstacles you can use to deal with enemies. I know the sieze spell can do this, but it might make more sense to do it automatically to allow for more variety and usages of objects.
- TV: hitting with lightning should turn it on. Intelligent enemies (skelebots... not sure what else) could perhaps be mesmerized by it. Destroying it would when it's on would cause an electric explosion.
- Oil lamp that's off but can be turned on by using fire. Knocking it down can burn things.
- It should be possible to knock down most lamps if you keep hitting next to them. Flying projectiles, possibly using the swing pattern that you create.
- In general it would be nice to see the potential of fire spells to burn things, light things etc.
- Waxed floor with "careful waxed floor" sign standing next to it. Super slippery.
- Icy floor: also slippery. Can be melted with fire.
- Watery floor: can electrocute whatever's standing on it with electric spells.
- Flammable floor: can be set on fire with fire spell.
- Spiky floor: really more of a trap. Spikes could pop out and come down at intervals.
- Gravity field: increases gravity, making damage from fall much higher.
- Sideways gravity fields: you get the idea.
- Rickety floor: some buildings could have these once in a while. Too much damage (or a heavy character) knocks down the floor, damaging whatever the debris falls on.
- Moving platform: like in Mario. Destroys any platforms/crates it comes in contact with.
- Escalators/moving floors: perhaps in a mall, which would also have stores.
- Small lakes can be frozen with repeated usage of ice spells.
- Standing on many objects should be possible: houses, water tower, cabinets (if you can fit).
- Water tower: gradual damage will cause water to start leaking out, dousing any water-sensitive enemies beneath. Complete destruction causes an explosion of water, which won't hurt most creatures.
- Wooden items could be set on fire after enough hits with fire. At that point most of their HP will probably be gone anyway, but they burn and damage things around them. Can be put out with water.
- Chairs and such could be pushed over by using spells with mass, so long as the spell doesn't just destroy the item. They could move with high velocity and hurt enemies.
- Sinks, toilets: can be destroyed, causing water to spray up and hurt and water-sensitive creatures. Wet creatures or creatures in water can be zapped, causing increased damage.

Some of these things (like the spikey floor) we're already planning at some point.

The TV one might be cool, but, with the way the art and such is done, would be quite difficult to do well.

Bee hives should release bees when hit/destroyed, and they should attack you/your enemies for a little while.

Quite a few of these are decent, but I do have some alternatives:

Water Tower: When destroyed, this could raise all water levels 1 tile in non-Lava areas.

Bee Hives: Alternatively, this could make an Insect Orb attack on whoever is nearest it when it is destroyed.
