Summary0008147: Have Tab-Targeting compensate for gravity affected spells
DescriptionIf you try to use tab-targeting to hit an enemy that is a mediumish distance away horizontally, a spell that is affected by gravity ( launch ice block, etc) it will never hit.

How about if the game automatically compensated for this by aiming slightly above the monster, when you tab-target.

Yep, that gets into when you can't use tab-targeting. This has been discussed on the forums many times. There's a number of players who feel the tab-targeting is borderline an exploit.

I disagree, but only because it doesn't do any compensation or calculations, etc; that's basically the compromise: that it won't do anything intelligent and so you have to aim by positioning yourself versus aiming the spell itself.

For some spells, like launch rock or similar, that might make tab-targeting untenable in some circumstances. As the variety of spells grows that will matter less, but even now if you get a suitable angle above your target you can hit them with tab targeting.
