Summary0001044: Voltron Type Capturables
DescriptionSomething along the line of you have to capture differnt parts on different planets to form a Golem-type ship. These can be on mark IV worlds and if you capture a peice, you have to continue to hold the world. If you lose the world, then you are no longer able to buld or operate the ship. (I know it's very general, but I think it would give added complexity to the game in terms of what planets to capture and what you are willing to do to capture them.)

Idea is very nice - I would point out one thing.

The need to capture and hold the planet - this can be huge deterrent.

Depending on number of parts this can get from highly difficult to simply impossible. Trying to keep for example 4 random planets that can be surrounded by AI is so difficult that it would require some ridiculous reward to be worth it.

Best it would be to do it like with ARS - make that part mobile and allow you to get it back to your worlds. It may or may not be stored in transport - it would need to be quite durable tho if not storable in transports to have some real chance to get it out alive.

I agree, the part about holding the planet was kind of an afterthought. I figure, the better the reward, the more difficult it needs to be to get it. I like the idea of allowing the part to be mobile, it would still be a pain to capture 4 mark iv worlds, and that probably would be enough difficulty to go through to get a pretty good reward. The question is... what could we make the reward? A mobile fortress that can move through wormholes? It could't be invincible, but would have to be pretty powerful. Maybe a teleporter that can transport an entire fleet 2-3 systems away?

A spire fortress? Fairly powerfull, but boots the power of all ships on teh planet? That would go well with the theme... especially if we are going to see more Eyes, or blob limiters...
