Summary | 0010604: Remove knockback from most/all spells?
Description | Melee spells dont do this anymore because it could cause things like enemies getting knocked forwards into you, or other goofy effects.... and I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to just remove the mechanic altogether. Alot of spells dont even use it, and for the most part the spells that DO use it kinda end up actually becoming LESS useful because of it, since it makes it that much harder to do sustained damage on a target because of it ricocheting in random directions every time you hit it. Knockback seems like the sort of mechanic that's mostly there to help the player not get hit by stuff, by shoving enemies away, but I find that in this game it usually just makes the player MORE likely to get hit, particularly with so many enemies having intricate ranged attacks or unusual movement patterns. Not to mention that it seems to cause some very strange effects in some situations, such as causing ceiling clingers (like those snakes) to pop off of the ceiling and just hang in midair, and glitchy things like that. It's not a particularly big issue, but some spells would be improved quite a bit and gain more usability if this were changed.
