Summary | 0010671: Variable "Guard Post" number
Description | A percentage/slider (50% to 300%?) to adjust the number of AI guardposts in the map. I think its a total backwards step that as you increase the 'difficulty' the game play slows down as taking a planet becomes a little harder, while your chances of lossing it don't seem to change? My intension would be to play a game with less 400,000,000 HP posts but more enemies attacking, so losing/gaining planets would both happen at a faster pace.

Hey, um when you say you want less 400,000,000 hp posts, are you referring to the wormhole guard posts? If you are, those automatically die when you destroy the orbital command station for that system. You don't have to kill them all before you kill the orbital command station. Typically the only reason I'd kill the wormhole guard posts is if I'm planning on not killing that particular AI system and I want it super neutered. Hope that helps. |

Yeah, Wormhole Guard Posts aren't really intended to be killed much. They even used to be permanently cloaked. They serve exclusively as a spawning point for reinforcements. |

It is worth mentioning that the relative ratio of guard posts is strongly tied to difficulty. Higher difficulties will have a much higher average number of guard posts per planet than lower difficulties. Not sure how handicap affects this though. I think it doesn't affect guard post count, but it does affect how many reinforcements the AI gets. |
