Summary0010731: Tier 5 Spell Balance Report part 1
DescriptionLet's keep this short.

Classes tested: (Viva)ncer, (Thicket)master, (Mesa)lord, (Beast)master, (Anni)hilist

Primaries

Viva primary is a fragment shot that splits upon impact. Seems cool.
Thicket primary is a new burst shot. Poor DPS, doesn't seem very good. None of these burst shots do really. Not sure what the point of them is.
Mesa primary is identical to Viva one.
Beast is a boomerang shot. Seems ok.
Anni primary is virtually identical to the Viva and Mesa ones.

Usability Scores:

Viva : B
Thicket: D -- edit, the cooldown was bugged should be fine now (B)
Mesa : B
Beast : B (could do with testing these some more, though)
Anni : B

I don't really get these burst shots like the Thicket one. Low DPS, low caliber. Low fire rate...

Others seem fine.

Secondaries

Viva secondary is charge shot. Now that these can be indefinitely held, seems fine.
Thicket secondary is a mass shot. High caliber should ensure these do well.
Mesa secondary is a snake shot. Always great.
Beast secondary is another charge shot. Seems comparable in power to the Viva one although the description says otherwise.
Anni secondary is an unusally powerful crescent wall. Long cooldown balances this though. Nice scarey sound as well.

Usability Scores:

Viva : B
Thicket: B
Mesa : B
Beast : B
Anni : B

Seem fine. Listed damage on the Viva and Beast charge shot though seem strange. Actual damage is very similar. Listed damage is a lot different.

Special

Viva special is a fusillade shot. Seems ok.
Thicket special is a unique floor stompy move. Coolest special in the game!
Mesa special is a fragmenting boulder throw. Seems cool although the range is poor.
Beast special is a standard whip attack. Fine.
Annie special is a typical sine attack. Always cool.

Usability Scores:

Viva : B
Thicket: B (cool! but not overpowered)
Mesa : B
Beast : B
Anni : B

These seem fine. I like the Thicket floor stomp.

Ammo attacks

Viva ammo attack is supposed to cause a towering pillar. Doesn't seem to work properly in the training room. No pillar appears. In other areas it seems fine.

Thicket ammo attack is a low power AOE spell. Low cost of 4 makes this decent.

Mesa ammo attack summons a boulder to follow you. Seems bugged though as the damage is pitiful. I couldn't kill clockwork avians on Turn 10 with it. Broken.

Beast ammo attack boost you into the sky. Cool, but given that it does 0 damage it's not that useful, especially at Tier 5 when you probably have double
jump etc.

Anni ammo attack is an unique gravity well type. Seems powerful and cool.

Usability Scores:

Viva : B (might need to check out the training room weirdness, though)
Thicket: B (a bit low power, though, need to test later in the game)
Mesa : E (broken, I couldn't kill a clockwork avian with it)
Beast : C (cool, but needs a buff)
Anni : B

Viva ammo attack doesn't seem to work properly in the training room. No pillar appears except over to the far right.

Mesa boulder doesn't do the correct damage or something. Got my ass handed to me by a clockwork avian trying to use it on him. Broken.

Beast ammo attack is cool, but since it does no damage it's not that useful, especially later in the game when you already have double jump etc. Either some
damage should be added to this or the cost reduced to 2 or 3 I think.

Overall Usability Scores:

Viva : 16 B
Thicket: 14 B
Mesa : 13 B
Beast : 15 B
Anni : 16 B

The big standout problem is the Mesa ammo attack which is bugged. Appears to do no damage at all.

Burst spells like the Thicket primary I'm not really getting. Low DPS, caliber, fire rate etc. -- edit, should be fine in 900

Beast rocket attack needs a buff I think. Either it needs to do damage or the cost should be reduced.

That's about it!
