Summary0001103: Allow the AI to send FF gens with waves
DescriptionApplicable to all AIs, or perhaps just the Support Corps AI:

Allow the AI to send FF gens of MK corresponding to wave MK through with waves at higher AIP.

This would disrupt players who rely upon vast fields of tractor turrets and would reduce the ability to the player to simply pin waves at the wormhole, encouraging defence in depth.

I'm not sure how this would stop tractor turrets. Last I checked, tractor beams can pluck things out of force fields. This would make bombers be a fairly easy game over vs homeworlds if it did stop tractor beams.

With the way waves are right now I'm not sure making tractor turrets useless is the way to go unless the wave sizes are rebalanced compared to planet defenses at the same time. Right now wave sizes vs planet defense sizes feels just about right and making random waves of bombers tractor immune and thus causing a notch down in difficulty due to a wave setup that may not even come in the game would make planets trivial to blow through just to be able to defend against the random waves of tractor immune bombers, as well as make waves that aren't tractor immune bombers trivial. You set the game difficulty based on the hardest thing you encounter. If that hardest thing is 4x harder than everything else, everything else is going to be trivial. This isn't a problem if the hard thing happens all the time, but I get the impression this would not.

With the current state of the shield bearers, I dont think the AI needs anything else with force fields, especially one with 250,000,000hp. Those shield bearers are keen at overrunning me already.
