Summary | 0011103: Suggestions for the Replay sequence at the start of turn
Description | Three major things I would suggested implemented before beta are: - One button to skip all villager actions, and go straight to military. Sometimes I want to know where the military are going but I have lots of villagers actions to resolve. - If it is at all possible to sort all red village actions and all blue village actions together, rather than swapping. This helps a player see what their villagers are doing, and help discern what needs to be done. - Able to do the replay over again (is there a button for this)? If I missed something that I notice, e.g. while building a new town and populating it with chapmen.

The villager actions (actually all actions) are done based on seniority; I'm not sure I'm keen to switch those to being between sides, as I think that would really skew things in red's favor unduly. Makes sense on the option to skip civilian actions, I think that's a great idea. Unfortunately the ability to do a replay is one-way, sorry. It's not technically possible to redo it a second time (same reason that's not possible when doing replays of games in other RTS games, too). The simulation goes through and changes all the variables, and there's no way to rewind that because objects get destroyed and so on. |
A way to skip villager actions was a thing I was just about to ask for - ninja'd I guess ;)... |
I got ninja'd also I guess with the villagers. Looking at tons of chapmans is not so interesting while military is playing around with your buildings. |
This one, at least: * Added a new "Skip Civilians" option on the playback menu. |
Wow that was fast! Chris, you never cease to amaze me = ). |
Well, I'm about to start ceasing, because I need to work on feature-completion for a while rather than running around putting out small fires (otherwise I'll never get this done). ;) But keep logging away for sure! |
