It's another of the "lying liar" stack trace crashes. For whatever reason they point to something innocuous that is not at all able to crash, when the real line number is somewhere completely else. When I run them in a reproducible fashion in the unity editor, then it gives me the real line number. But without a repro case, these "lying liar" stack traces basically mean I would have to search the entire codebase for an error that I don't even know the type of. :/ |

I just added a set of logs generated by a fatal error on this save. I had to load the save a second time and play it through to get the error though. |

What were your repro steps? Just hit end turn, or more needed? |

I wasn't doing anything particularly "weird". I guess the weirdest things as dropping on of those tokens that smiles random tiles. Maybe it smited something that put the game in a weird state *shrug*. |

I just hit end turn. I bumped the replay speed up to 4x. I did repro it a second time. Basically both tests went like this: Load up save, play it out 7 turns, exit to menu and reload save, play it out and it errors. I think it has something to do with the Midgard Serpent. Both times I got it to error the serpent has 2 turns left. |

@Mick: Basically when I asked about the details, its this stuff we are doing right now. How I went about getting the game to error again in a reliable way. The more detailed we can be in this part of the report, the easier (hopefully) it is for the guys to track it down. You can check out some of my other FE reports if you want a better idea about it :) |

I was able to duplicate it, once, with just hitting end turn. I got the bogus line number even in unity. It was on my third time through, hitting end turn and skip to end (at speed 1) like a jillion times. On the bright side, I had an epiphany in general: * Knock on wood, seemingly fixed an issue that was causing us to get "lying liar" stack traces that were completely useless to us in tracking down certain bugs when they happened. ** The problem arose from the fact that -- as we have known from some time -- anything in the OnGUI call stack in Unity 3D has completely borked error handling that does not work at all, can't be caught, and don't have valid stack traces. ** In the skip playback and skip to next unit buttons, we were violating one of our oldest rules of not calling game code directly from a GUI button even of this sort if we want an actual stack trace from it. Knock on wood, hopefully that solves the issue, though we've not been able to repro it yet. |

Still got an error with this save, Logs included are from 809. Loaded save and skipped next unit until it erred out (happened on initial play this time). |

All right, all right: * Put in some super paranoid checking and error prevention for an error that has been cropping up very occasionally for a while now -- this seems to be a "lying liar" line number case, but just in case it's not there is preventative code slathered all over it now. |
