Summary | 0011633: Highlight building choice during tutorial | ||||
Description | The tutorial now, nicely, only lets the player place the exact building being requested. For the first time player, it would be nice if the category icon and, subsequently, the building icon sparkled or glowed or did something else to draw the eye. A player looking for the "quarry" might not notice that it is referred to as "rock" in the list. Would speed up the learning. | ||||

I thought about that. But -- isn't it better if the player gets used to finding these things the first time? Aka, familiarization with how the menu works right away, rather than not really getting a sense for it until later? |

I would leave all the tooltips active, so a player who wants to explore can. Even selectable, so they can see the tooltip of "we won't let you place that now." But, a subtle hint as to where to click would help those who can't find it. (This comes from my wife, who is not in your demographic at all, so take this as you will. But, she had trouble even finding the right menu to start with. That, and the "rock/quarry" thing.) |
