Summary | 0011821: AI Eye activation based on fleet strength and not on number of ships
Description | Right now when considering a raid into a Eye-protected planet, I pretty much bring my starships every time. Even a poorly chosen starship beats a well-suited fleet ship, and since I'm limited by number, the starship is the best choice every time. I'd prefer the option to bring along carefully chosen mix of starships and fleet ships, carefully tailored to the particulars of the planet. That makes more sense if the activation of the Eye occurs when the human fleet strength outguns the AI by 2. This would also help make a planet with an Eye and two fortresses a more reasonable stronghold rather than an overwhelming barrier. The down side would be that it might be difficult for the player to determine how many ships they can bring without activating the Eye if the algorithm is more complicated than counting. A fix for this would be to display a message in the status window. Something like AI Eye is 32% wary in Cetaganda When the Eye is at 100% (or higher) wariness, it activates. The messages could be suppressed when they are, say, less than 10% wary.
