Description | As a game setup option (So you can turn it off, considering a lot of people probably like the old mechanic) I would like Irreplacables like Fabricators, Advanced Factories, Etc, to leave remains behind on death. You can then use a remains rebuilder to rebuild them. However, the resource values of those artifacts would become relavent, and set to a certain value. (Note that I am using the resulting values, since reclaims start at 50% health, so costs need to be doubled) Fabricators, as they only build a single thing, would take 30 minutes to build, at a full 1 million metal and crystal cost, which is equal to your resource cap. This being around the cost of a T2 fortress, you won't be doing this easily.... As for Factories, which build multiple things, I will double the cost, to a full hour, and 2 million of each resource. The results of this are as follows. -If you lose a planet with a fabricator/factory, you can still reclaim it. If I end up getting a fabricator/factory killed, because it is irreplacable, I often will save-skum, and a lot of other people probably do as well. However, if it were possible to repair it, I would do so instead. After all, its a huge resource cost, and that is after you reclaimed the planet, and set up proper defences you failed on the first time. It would be more forgiving... Slightly... And, it would be an option, so hardcore players can leave it disabled. I would probably want it to be on by default however. ~Resource costs can be increased, I put it at the lower limit as to what I thought was reasonable. Don't want to go past 4mil for fabricators, or 10mil for factories, since that is getting in the absurdly expensive territory. ~If possible, make it so they are disabled on reclaiming, so it doesn't start sucking resources. ~Might make a global message that one died, or is being rebuilt | ||||
