Summary0012216: Allow level exploration after Mission Success
DescriptionThere have been several times where I've completed a mission before I was through exploring. Can we get an option to keep playing the level after finishing the goals? After we're done exploring, there could be an Evac button to leave the level. If we die during this period, it could count as a loss like normal. That way it's not completely without risk.

I think that this is not a good idea, just in terms of the complexity to the code and the user, but what I can do is make it so that the end conditions are not accidentally met.

Having a staircase-like (in the roguelike sense) exit tile that you always have to step on to end the mission would pretty much solve that, I think.

I wanted to propose something along the lines of a clear objective list / bot counter that allows the player to fathom that the method will end soon (at least I think that this is not available yet).

I repeatedly got kicked out of a mission with truckloads hacking points and locked doors I wanted to check out later due to meeting the victory condition without being aware I was about to - kinda frustrating...

There actually is that already on the sidebar: you can see how many bots are left, or how many bosses are left, in missions where killing them is your goal.

For the other things, it is about destroying usually one thing or standing next to one thing, which again it tells you. The two exceptions would be the robot fabricators in the factory and the command computers in the robot command centers, I think.

Ah, okay. I know about the hover, but somehow I missed a bot count being displayed there. I think for me it only repeated the mission text from the city map, but I may be wrong here.

Any chance to get these counters/objectives moved to a more prominent location? Like a textual overlay somewhere in the main game are?

It might be a bit too tucked away where it currently is I think...

This will be much less important if we are no longer pulled from the mission on success automatically, though (e.g. by having to hit a button or move to an exit)

It's actually an unlabeled count on the button itself, rather than being in the tooltip, so that might be part of the confusion; it might need to be both.

* There is a new Warp Page (Mission Exit) tile that now seeds in all missions.
** When all your mission objectives have been completed, stepping onto this pad will warp your Exos out and declare mission victory!
** In other words, these are the "stairs down" if you are thinking of other roguelikes.
** The reason for this addition is to give you more control over when exactly you win a mission (so you can explore more prior to exiting if you want).
** In old savegames, you may find that you insta-win your current mission if the objective is simply to find the mission exit, which doesn't exist in that mission. Later missions in that same savegame won't have this effect. We figured you'd prefer this to having the mission being unwinnable. ;)
