Description | One thing that has been bugging me is that the whistle now alerts all bots that the player has located. I suggest switching it so that the whistle only alerts bots that are currently within the player's sensor range. That seems more sensible, and it gives the player more control of which bots to lure in, as well as providing more strategy when choosing between bots with different sensor ranges. | ||||

I agree, however, from what I've seen, there isn't any UI overlay for sensor radius at the moment, so there isn't really a good way to tell if a bot you have previously detected via sensors is still in sensor range or not. The simple but stupid way to implement this would be to switch whistle to a "weapon", so you would have to select it before "firing" it, but then the shift key (by default) would show weapon ranges, and thus show whistle's range, which would in turn by influenced by the bot's sensor range. I'm not sure if any of that makes sense in how whistle works / is supposed to work though. As it stands right now, the player can't whistle at anything less than everything they've ever seen or smelled or thought about, which feels a bit strange. |

Maybe make the whistle mouseover show sensor (and thus, whistle) range? |

For 0.922: * Whistle has been changed back to only applying to enemies in sensor range, rather than ALL detected enemies. ** But to make this intelligible to the user the game now draws whistle's range as an overlay when you have the mouse cursor over the whistle button. Thanks :) |
